Heck yeah! Is an understatement for how in love I am with intimate indoor sessions aka being true to who you are as a couple, letting down your walls and capturing every little darn bit of raw emotion – they even brought their cuddly cat along for the ride!
This is Cam + CJ’s part one of their engagement session – shot out at the beautiful Piha and inside their kiwi bach (check out part ii too!). When they emailed about documenting their wedding at the Sapphire Room in Ponsonby, which I have previously shot at and loved the LA loft style + feel I just had to shoot there again. We met for coffee and I loved their story, their passion for one another and the excitement for their big day – I knew I just had to do something different with them for their engagement session! Thank you for both embracing my silliness + letting me capture those vulnerable but intimate moments just the two of you! Part two is still to come – watch this space, it’s a goodie.
cj + cam | part ii
I’m a bit excited to share part two of Cam + CJ’s fun-loving engagement shoot! Part one was their intimate indoor shoot at the family bach where they chilled together in the late afternoon sun sipping tea and letting me document them as two people head over heels for one another! Part two carries on that super relaxed vibe as we strolled the beach, stumbled across some holes in the rocks, some mighty fine smashing waves, basked in some golden light and even got our feet wet because that’s what you do at the beach right?! I’m not going to lie, this was a lot of fun, thanks for having a laugh with me and capturing this beautiful stage of ‘being engaged’ before the big day next April!
briar + corey
There’s just something about visiting a west coast beach, the rough rocks, black sand & incredible golden sunsets…
Corey + Briar spent the whole day chilling together & making it an all day activity – we met out at the beautiful west coast beach, Muriwai, later in the afternoon to soak up all that evening light. I had so much fun with these two, they definitely took on board my feeling of letting down their walls, forgetting everything around them, generally not holding back & also embraced the goofy moments too which are so awesome to document. It’s always nice to shoot an e-session before the big day just to see how a couple work in front of the camera, relax into it, forget I’m even there half the time, be in the moment and also hopefully walk away with some tips and confidence for the big day.
Needless to say they rocked the session, embraced the laughter, along with some bird poop & a couple of random large waves that came their way! I’m so excited for their big day next year and being a part of it.
sam + dev
Wet hair, don't care? Well, that was definitely the case for Sam + Dev when they decided to venture out early on Sunday morning in the pouring rain!
Couples sessions are awesome and if you get the opportunity to do one I'd definitely recommend jumping on the bandwagon! So when these two said they were up for it I was so stoked to capture this part of their lives only one month before their big day with so much excitement on their shoulders. It was perfect timing besides the rain but as my mum always says, "some people walk in the rain, others just get wet!"
Of course, the rain didn't stop until we got back to the car a good hour later but it set the mood and I wouldn't have changed a thing! These two were just full of laughs & if this shoot is anything to go by with the amount of laughter I'm already counting down to their big day.
Congratulations on being an awesome couple and soon tying the knot - thanks for allowing me into your space & meeting me more than halfway, not complaining about the rain or trekking through the mud - you guys truly rock. I'll leave you all with... "couple's who laugh together stay together".
